Unreleased

0.1.0

First public release of Tidix, a native system monitor for macOS and Apple silicon.

Highlights

  • Summary

CPU, memory, GPU, temperature, network, and disk cards, plus the apps that used the most network, CPU, memory, energy, or disk over the last five minutes.

  • Performance

A separate entry for every P and E core, memory, GPU, Neural Engine, each physical disk with SMART, and each network interface.

  • Processes

A process tree with owner, CPU, memory, threads, disk I/O, energy impact, and wakeups. Filter by owner, and quit, signal, or change priority through the privileged helper.

  • Power and sensors

SMC temperatures, fans, and power rails, plus P and E clusters, GPU, Neural Engine, and the media engine on Apple silicon.

  • Disk space

Fast parallel scanning, a treemap you can drill into and zoom, and moving items to the Trash.

  • System health

Checks for free space, SMART, battery, thermals, memory, load, and security, with an event log and macOS notifications.

  • Benchmarks

CPU, memory bandwidth, sequential disk, and Metal GPU tests, with result history and CSV export.

  • Menu bar

One menu bar item per metric, as a value, a mini graph, or both, and floating desktop panels with live graphs.

  • And more

launchd services, network connections, Bluetooth devices, startup items, installed apps, and system information.

Details

  • Light, dark, and monochrome phosphor themes.
  • English, Spanish, French, and German, switchable without a restart.
  • Launch at login. Closing the window keeps Tidix in the menu bar and slows sampling down.
  • Monitoring profiles for Power saving, Standard, and Diagnostic, and a configurable refresh rate.
  • No telemetry and no third-party dependencies.

The Shipped column on the roadmap is what is in the app. Next and Later stay empty until work is decided.
